Specific settings and the various printers are located under Computer for the respective work place or computer.
Program start options
These settings define which window should open, when the program is started.
Several instances of WS Skischule are used for terminal servers, so that the program can be opened a number of times. If a ski school is using the live system and the test system at the same time, this tick must likewise be set.
This is also where the language, in which the program should be displayed, is located.
Changes in this menu are not made until the program has been rebooted.
Printer
This is where the A4, ticket and receipt printer is regulated. All the printers, which are connected either locally or by the network, are available. The appropriate printer for each format is selected.
If the program is started in a remote session and the printers are connected not to the terminal server, but to the local PC they are identified by (redirected to ...). The number and the part behind it are replaced with an *, it changes its number and is reassigned with every remote session. An * must be set so that the printer is nevertheless recognised again. The Update printer tick must also be set on terminal servers.
Activating the Print preview displays the preview on the PC before each ticket is printed and the printing task must be sent again from the preview.
The print-out can also be positioned here. To move the text the settings in the top/left margins fields must be changed.
The Horiz. offset no./BC and Vert. offset no./BC fields affect the positioning of the ticket number and the bar code.
If the Check printing properties tick is set, this can lead to problems in printing the ticket. As a precaution the tick should always be removed.
Root directory
The paths to the various ws_ski sub folders are stored in the root directory.
Alias database
This is where all the databases, which are available for the ski school program, can be allocated a path and alias.
Till
If a ski school has a cash drawer, this can be linked to the ski school program. This is where the connection for the cash drawer and the control sequence for opening the drawer must be stored.
The interface to Hobex or Card Complete card payment terminal are organised here with Pepper.
Export
The e-mail export is used only by a very few ski schools. It makes it possible to reconcile data in two databases without replication. At required times the data are reconciled.
Data reconciliation can also be carried out under Database – Execute script.
Bar code
Settings for bar codes and scanners are found in this point. Many bar code scanners add a preamble or a postamble to the scanned bar code; this can be excluded here. In order to recognise the preamble or the postamble a ticket can be scanned in Editor. In this way any ambles can be recognised. These can then be transferred in the ski school program, so that only the ticket umber is scanned.
In the Identification Code Type field the post- or preamble must also be entered.
The size of the bar code can be entered as Code 39 or Code 128. Bar codes with the Code 128 size are more compact; if the bar code is thus too long for the ticket, the size of the bar code is adjusted.
WARNING: After converting the bar code size, always print and check a duplicate, to make sure that the scanner can still read the bar code!
The stroke width should be about 0.30.
Treatment of exceptions
Treatment of exceptions is used for searching for errors in the program and their solution. If an error message appears, activating Treatment of exceptions displays an additional window with helpful information about the error message, which has appeared; this often contributes to finding and correcting the software problem.
VoIP
This is where the settings for the telephone system are stored, so that customers, ski instructors etc. can be called up directly from the ski school program via the program.
Representation
The size and script of the reports displayed can be regulated here.
